About agent-config

AI coding agents are only as good as their configuration. The difference between an agent that wastes your time and one that genuinely accelerates your work comes down to a handful of files: your AGENTS.md, your rules, your model routing, your context management.

agent-config exists to bridge that gap. We publish opinionated, battle-tested configurations and guides for every major AI coding tool — Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and more.

What we believe

  • Opinionated beats generic. "It depends" is a cop-out. We pick the best defaults and explain our reasoning. You can always adapt.
  • Real-world beats theoretical. Every config we publish has been tested in production codebases. No toy examples.
  • Cross-tool beats tribal. The best practices transcend any single tool. Learn the principles, apply them everywhere.

Who we are

We're developers who spend every day working with AI coding agents. We got tired of re-discovering the same configuration patterns across projects and decided to document them properly.

Contributing

agent-config is open to contributions. If you have a config that works, a guide that helped you, or a setup that others should know about, we want to hear from you. Check out our GitHub for contribution guidelines.
